Within this module the lecture “Enterprise Systems” takes place and is presented by the IIS Chair. The lecture includes objectives, activities and approaches of Business Engineering. Therewith, it captures a holistic combination of strategy development, process modeling, and system development in companies and between them.
In this lecture, students develop an understanding of what it means to implement a fundamental change in a company as consequence of the digitalization. For this purpose, the management of both technical and social systems is required.
This module deals with different IT-systems and analyzes their impact on several levels. To accomplish this, methods for analysis and evaluations are presented. The different situational cause-effect relationships are explained in detail by case studies.
The scope of this module relies in large enterprise systems. The focus lies especially on the management of these systems. On this account, it is further concentrated on the selection, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise systems. Selected problems that relate to management aspects are additionally explained to students.
This lecture deals with current topics of integrated IT-systems. At this juncture highly topical developments are discussed both in Business Informatics Research and practice.
